Use to search individual transactions between from_date and to_date. Filters: description_contains, category_id, min_amount, max_amount, product_id, allocation. Filter by category_id to see recent real transactions in that category (use min_accounting_date/max_accounting_date from get_account_overview). Prefer this over get_categories(include_examples=true) when you need amounts, dates, or more than 3 samples for one category. Max 100 results per page.

search_transactions

Use to get the account category catalog (valid category_id values). Set include_examples=true once at the start of a categorization session to see typical merchant descriptions per category (last 90 days). Default false for a lightweight catalog only.

get_categories

Use to compare spending between two months or vs prior month / 3- or 6-month average. Provide period_b_month for a direct comparison, or compare_to for a rolling baseline. Returns top_spending_increases/decreases (spending up = more negative). Amounts in CLP: expenses (expense) are negative; income is positive. A more negative expense total means more spending.

Use for budget vs actual by category in a month. Returns actual, budget, pct_used, remaining, and status (under|over|no_budget).

get_budget_status

Use to explain spending spikes on specific days within a month. Amounts in CLP: expenses (expense) are negative; income is positive. A more negative expense total means more spending.

get_daily_spending

Use first before financial questions. Returns date range with data, bank products, sync status (last_successful_sync, sync_stale), active access, and shared-account context. Amounts in CLP: expenses (expense) are negative; income is positive. A more negative expense total means more spending.

get_account_overview

Use for monthly spending/income/savings totals between start_month and end_month. Amounts in CLP: expenses (expense) are negative; income is positive. A more negative expense total means more spending.

get_spending_summary

Creates a category suggestion only (pending_review); sets transactions.category_id for app display but user must confirm to finalize. The user can review and confirm in the ualet app (Transacciones pendientes). After each successful call, tell the user they can review and confirm there. Before suggesting: (1) use historical_category_hint from list_pending_categorization when present; (2) if unsure between categories, call get_categories(include_examples=true) once or search_transactions(category_id=…) for the specific category; (3) then call this tool with transaction_id and category_id. Do not call if a category_assignment already exists. Include a short reason when the choice is not obvious.

suggest_category

Use for top merchant descriptions by spend (expenses only) between from_date and to_date. Ordered by highest spend. recurring filters merchants with min_occurrences+ appearances (default 2). Amounts in CLP: expenses (expense) are negative; income is positive. A more negative expense total means more spending.

get_top_merchants

Use to list pending transactions that have no category_assignment yet. Returns description, amount, product, cardholder, allocation, similar_pending_count, and historical_category_hint when the user categorized the same description before. Prefer historical_category_hint on each row before looking up category-wide examples. Category suggestions are not final until the user confirms. The user can review and confirm in the ualet app (Transacciones pendientes).
