Linked Word

Find KJV verses that use a Strong's number. lang=h for Hebrew, lang=g for Greek. Results are paged verse text plus citation URLs, not the lexicon entry. page_size defaults to 20, maximum 100.

find_verses_by_strongs

Look up a King James passage. book is a lowercase abbreviation (gen, john, 1john). Omit verse to get a chapter. Default result is the passage text plus one citation URL — no per-word Strong's data. Set include_strongs=true only when the user asked for Strong's numbers or word-level links. Long chapters are paged: page_size defaults to 20 and cannot exceed 100.

get_passage

List the 66 KJV books with abbreviations and chapter counts. Use this to turn a book name into an abbreviation (Genesis → gen).

list_books

Look up one Strong's Hebrew (lang=h) or Greek (lang=g) lexicon entry by number. id is the number without the H/G prefix. Returns the full lexicon entry, the word in its original script, Strong's definition, and a citation URL. `renderings` lists every English wording the KJV uses for this number, with its occurrence count, how many verses contain it, and the URL of a page listing exactly those verses.

get_strongs

Reverse lookup: find Strong's numbers whose KJV usage/gloss is the given English word (e.g. flesh, love, beginning). Matches the English word the KJV uses, not the long definition text. Returns only the number and a short definition. Use this when several Hebrew or Greek words share one English rendering. `match` controls how the keyword is compared: "exact" (the default) matches whole words only, so "love" will not reach "loved"; "stemmed" folds word endings, so "love" also finds "loved", "loveth" and "loving" -- widen to "stemmed" when an exact search comes back empty or looks short. The response echoes the mode it used. Results are paged: page_size defaults to 20, maximum 100.

reverse_strongs

Full-text search of the KJV English text. Pass a phrase or keywords (e.g. 'still waters'). Results are ranked and paged: page_size defaults to 20, maximum 100. This does not search Strong's numbers or lexicon entries.

search_verses

Search section headings (pericopes) for topics such as 'The Sermon on the Mount' or 'The End Times'. Combines stemmed full-text search (prophesy matches prophecy) with semantic vector search (end of the world can match The Day of the Lord). Returns matching topics with verse ranges and Linked Word URLs. page_size defaults to 20, maximum 100.
