Courtroom5
Courtroom5 serves self-represented litigants (SRLs) — people who must navigate civil court without an attorney, typically because they cannot afford one. Roughly 80% of civil litigants in the United States appear without legal representation. Without guidance, they lose cases on procedural technicalities before the merits are ever heard. The Courtroom5 app gives ChatGPT users access to three jurisdiction-aware legal tools: a case intake assessment that evaluates a user's situation and identifies applicable civil claims; a deadline calculator that returns precise procedural deadlines and consequences by state and court level; and next-step guidance for users already in active litigation. All tools are scoped to civil matters in US state and federal courts and designed for plain-language delivery to non-lawyers. Courtroom5 is a Techstars graduate and recipient of the ABA Woman of Legal Tech recognition. We have served over 12,000 self-represented litigants across all 50 states.
