Batch lookup for multiple music identifiers in a single request. Accepts any combination of up to 100 ISRCs, ISWCs, IPIs, ISNIs, or UPCs. Falls back to MusicBrainz for identifiers not yet in the index. Results are keyed by identifier code with a sources field (credits_db, notes_credits_api, or musicbrainz).
Submit data to the public Credits.fm index when invited by the user. Accepts an array of contributions, each targeting an identifier (ISRC, ISWC, IPI, ISNI, UPC), a field name, and a value. Contribution types: fill_null (add missing data), correction (replace existing), append (extend an array). Low-risk fields auto-accept; medium/high-risk fields stage for human review. Requires an API key (free at https://credits.fm/api#get-api-key).
Get index coverage metrics — row counts and growth data for all Credits.fm index tables (ISRC, ISWC, IPI, ISNI, UPC).
Look up an artist (the release artist on DSPs) by platform ID. Returns full discography with albums, tracks, ISRCs, UPCs, cover art, and streaming links. For the person behind the music (songwriter credits, IPI/ISNI, group memberships), use credits_lookup_musician instead.
Look up a songwriter or publisher by IPI number. Returns name, roles (Composer, Author, Arranger), works (ISWCs), recordings (ISRCs), co-writers, publishers, and average ownership share percentage.
Look up a creative contributor by ISNI code. Returns name, name variants, creation roles, linked IPI numbers, associated works and recordings, and data sources.
Look up a recording by ISRC code. Returns songwriter credits with names/roles/share percentages, publisher chains, performer credits (vocals, guitar, drums, etc.), producer/engineer/mix credits, linked ISWC, MLC match status and Song Code, and platform links.
Look up a musical work (composition) by ISWC code. Returns song title, all recordings (ISRCs) of this work, songwriter credits, and CISAC registration status.
Look up a musician (the person) by MusicBrainz MBID (UUID). Returns songwriter credits, performer credits with specific roles (vocals, guitar, etc.), producer/engineer credits, group memberships/members, IPI and ISNI identifiers, and per-role credit counts. For DSP discography, use credits_lookup_artist instead.
Look up releases by UPC barcode. Returns album metadata and a full track list with ISRCs, plus per-ISRC enrichment: songwriter credits with IPIs and publisher chains, performer credits, ISWC, MLC Song Code, and match status. Falls back to Apple Music and MusicBrainz for UPCs not yet in the index.
Find all known publishers for a songwriter. Given a songwriter's IPI (preferred), returns every publisher that co-occurs with them across all songs in the Credits.fm database. When no IPI is available, provide the songwriter's name along with ISRCs or ISWCs of their songs for disambiguation. Returns publisher names, IPIs, roles, and the number of shared songs.
Resolve a track to its ISRC and full credits by name + artist, Spotify URL, or Apple Music URL. Returns the ISRC, songwriters, publisher chains, performer/producer credits, and a link to the full Credits.fm page.
Resolve a Spotify or Apple Music URL to music identifiers. Supports track, album, playlist, and artist URLs. Returns track/album metadata that can be looked up further via ISRC or UPC.
Search Credits.fm for songs, artists, or music identifiers. Auto-detects ISRC, ISWC, IPI, ISNI, UPC codes, Spotify/Apple Music URLs, or performs text search by song title or artist name. Returns songwriter, performer, and producer credits where available.
