Description
Ask about a US election — the 2026 midterms ahead, or any presidential election since 1788 — and get an answer with a date on it. For 2026: the consensus competitiveness rating for any of the 100 Senate seats and 435 House districts, a consensus of Cook Political Report and Sabato's Crystal Ball, along with which races are genuinely in play and what forecasters have changed their minds about since the last update. The part a chat assistant cannot do on its own is the arithmetic. Describe a scenario in plain language — "Republicans hold every toss-up but lose Maine" — and VoteMapper resolves it against the ratings in effect and returns a full chamber map you can argue with. Click any race to reassign it and the tally follows. The Senate has 65 seats that are not on the 2026 ballot and are already counted; getting that right is the difference between a real answer and a confident wrong one. For history: every presidential election from 1788 to 2024, as a map rather than a paragraph. Compare two elections and see which states changed hands, trace one state's whole voting history and current streak, or reassign states to ask what a different outcome would have meant. Multi-way elections like 1860 and 1912 come back whole rather than flattened into two parties. You can also check a sealed VoteMapper forecast. A prediction declared in the app is verified here by fingerprint and scored against published race calls once results land — over called races only, so an uncalled race is never counted as a miss. VoteMapper is a simulator. It reports no live vote counts, returns or called races, and its historical data holds electoral votes, not popular-vote totals. Every answer carries the date its data was published, both parties are treated symmetrically throughout, and the connector takes no position on any race. Read-only and stateless: no account, no sign-in, nothing written, nothing retained between requests.
