Ask any question about your Luzmo data — get a written answer, plus a live chart when one helps. DEFAULT tool for natural-language data questions. Use this for any data Q&A unless the user explicitly asks for text only. Prefer this over answer_question_text. The chart JSON is optional — the API may return text only — so this is a safe default for both pure-text and explanation-plus-chart asks. Ask via /aiprompt with agent "analyst" and response_mode "mixed". Can resolve relevant datasets from the question itself — pass datasetIds only when you already know them. Do not call search_datasets first unless the user asked to browse datasets or you need column-level schema detail. Returns text and chart item JSON when the API generates a chart. Chart JSON is not guaranteed if Luzmo cannot build a visualization from the prompt or datasets. The client renders the chart from structuredContent. The chart and its JSON should never be reproduced in the reply, in any form (including but not limited to JSON, artifact, canvas, document, file, image, or HTML/Markdown chart).

Turn a natural-language prompt into a ready-to-embed Luzmo chart. Generate a chart from a natural-language request over one or more datasets, via /aiprompt with agent "item" (no response_mode). Use when the goal is primarily a chart or visualization, not a long-form analytic narrative. Pass datasetIds when known; use search_datasets only if you need to discover ids or schema first. Returns the chart item JSON configuration (slots, filters, options) and optional analyst-style prose when the API includes it. Edit chart options, data, or filters by calling create_chart with an updated prompt. The configuration is generated output; slot labels and internal ids in the result do not match what you expect when modified directly. The client renders the chart from structuredContent. The chart and its JSON should never be reproduced in the reply, in any form (including but not limited to JSON, artifact, canvas, document, file, image, or HTML/Markdown chart).

create_chart

Discover Luzmo datasets, columns, and formulas in your workspace. Search and inspect Luzmo datasets (read-only). Returns dataset metadata and optional column/formula schema. Use only when necessary or when the user explicitly asks to browse/list datasets or inspect column-level schema before querying. Do NOT call this by default before answer_question or answer_question_text — those tools can resolve datasets from the prompt when dataset ids are unknown. Prefer search_datasets for: explicit “list/show datasets”, tag or keyphrase discovery, column stats/formulas, or when create_chart needs dataset ids you do not already have. Supports filter by id, keyphrase, tags, dashboardId; pagination via limit/offset.
