Qontext

List files and folders in your context repository. Context repository files contain structured knowledge organized as markdown files in a folder hierarchy (e.g. /folder/subfolder/file.md). Use this tool to browse context repository files. Omit path to list root folders, or provide a folder path to see its contents. Returns `{ nodes, cursor }`: when `cursor` is non-null, more items are available — pass it back as `cursor` on the next call to fetch the next page. This tool is safe to use. On failure the result has `isError: true` and `structuredContent.code`, a stable error code.

qontext_ls

Create a folder in the context repository at the given absolute path. Rules: path must be absolute (start with "/"); the parent folder must already exist (no -p semantics — intermediate folders are not auto-created); the folder name may contain dots internally or trailing (e.g. "report.2025", "archive.tar.gz", "v1.0-beta") but must not start with a dot (e.g. ".hidden", ".config" are rejected) and must not end in ".md" (that is the file suffix); control characters and most shell/glob metacharacters (e.g. `; $ | & \ < > * ? [ ] { } : `) are rejected. Use qontext_ls first to confirm the parent exists. On failure the result has `isError: true` and `structuredContent.code`, a stable error code.

qontext_mkdir

Create or update a file in the context repository. If a file exists at the given path its body is replaced; if not, a new file is created. Previous content is preserved in the file's commit history. Rules: path must be absolute (start with "/"); must end in ".md"; must not end with a trailing "/"; the parent folder must exist (use qontext_mkdir first if needed; a top-level path like "/file.md" needs no folder).

qontext_write

Delete a file or folder from the context repository. Accepts an absolute path (e.g. "/folder/file.md" or "/folder/subfolder"), a bare file ID (e.g. "doc_…"), a bare folder ID (e.g. "dir_…"), or the ID-encoded path returned by qontext_ls (e.g. "/folder/name.doc_….md"). Flags: `recursive: true` deletes a folder AND its entire subtree (required for non-empty folders; rejected on a file target). `force: true` makes a missing target succeed silently — it is NOT a permanent-purge flag. Pending changes never block a delete; they resolve against it when they land. A protected file or folder (or a subtree containing one) cannot be deleted with this tool. Without `recursive`, an attempt to delete a non-empty folder returns a conflict error whose message lists the recovery options. Deletion is irreversible from this tool. On failure the result has `isError: true` and `structuredContent.code`, a stable error code.

qontext_rm

Read the full content of one or more files from your context repository. Each input may be a bare file ID (e.g. "doc_…", included in a file reference), the ID-carrying path returned by qontext_ls (e.g. "/folder/name.doc_….md"), or a plain path ending in ".md" (e.g. "/folder/name.md"). All three shapes can be mixed in the same batch. Browse with qontext_ls first if you do not have an ID or path. All-or-nothing: if any input in the batch cannot be read, the whole call fails — split the batch client-side if you need to recover successful reads around a bad one. This tool is safe to use. On failure the result has `isError: true` and `structuredContent.code`, a stable error code.

qontext_cat

Recursively walk the context repository and return every descendant file and folder under a starting point. Use this when you need everything below a folder (or the entire context repository file tree) — `qontext_ls` only lists direct children. Optional filters narrow the result: `kind` to "file" or "folder", `updatedAfter` (ISO 8601) to items modified strictly after a cutoff. Returns `{ nodes, cursor }`: when `cursor` is non-null, more items are available — pass it back as `cursor` on the next call to fetch the next page. Omit `path` to start from the context repository root. This tool is safe to use. On failure the result has `isError: true` and `structuredContent.code`, a stable error code.

qontext_find

Rename or move a file by path in the context repository. Strict XOR: either rename (dst's parent matches src's parent, with a different basename ending in ".md") OR move (dst is either an existing folder, or a full file path under a different existing folder with src's basename preserved). Combined move+rename in a single call is rejected — split it into two calls. Folder sources are not yet supported. Same-path no-ops return the unchanged file. Returns the resulting file node with its new path and parent. On failure the result has `isError: true` and `structuredContent.code`, a stable error code.

qontext_mv

Retrieves information from the context workspace. Returns the context if it is successful, otherwise returns an error message. Phrase "query" as a qualitative question to answer. Examples: "Who is Harry Potter?", "What is ACME Inc.?". IMPORTANT: Set includeSources=true when the user asks for sources, citations, references, or where information comes from, or if you feel like they could be relevant for a different reason. This tool is safe to use. On failure the result has `isError: true` and `structuredContent.code`, a stable error code.

retrieval-tool

Search file contents across the entire context repository for a query string. `mode: "literal"` (default) treats the query as a substring; regex metacharacters are not interpreted. `mode: "regex"` compiles the query as an RE2-dialect regular expression (no backreferences, no lookaround); anchors `^` and `$` apply per line, and results carry no relevance ranking (narrow-stage iteration order). Single-line only — queries containing newlines are rejected. `ignoreCase` toggles case folding (POSIX `grep -i` semantics). Returns at most `topK` matched files, each carrying its `fileId` and a list of line-level matches (`line` 1-indexed, `text` full line). Use qontext_cat with a returned `fileId` to read the full file. This tool is safe to use. On failure the result has `isError: true` and `structuredContent.code`, a stable error code.
