how_related

Join a tree using an invitation supplied by the user. The user chooses their own name and may optionally claim an existing placeholder. This shares the submitted profile with that family and may notify its elders. Confirm the intended family before joining.

join_tree

Show the adult-only family graph and this account's role. Younger and unconfirmed profiles remain in Banyan. Returns only the fields needed to explore the tree; use get_member for profile details. get_tree

restore_member

Approve or reject a pending connection with another family's independently managed tree. This changes the shared connection status visible to both families. Approval requires a bridge member in this tree. Elders only; confirm the other family and bridge member before approving.

review_tree_link

review_suggestion

Preview a batch of explicitly supplied family changes before saving. Use resultAs labels and references like $tree.id, $tree.founder_member_id, $mum.id. Use spouse for partners, displayed as Partner, rather than a custom partner label. Add each supplied relationship once; Banyan adds reciprocal edges. This stores only a private draft; it does not change a tree. The user saves from the preview interface.

preview_family

Save the user's reviewed adult-only draft after explicit confirmation in the preview interface. Completed steps are checkpointed so retries do not duplicate relatives. This tool is only exposed to the app UI.

save_family_preview

Store a pending correction record in Banyan's own private family database for one adult profile in the selected authorized tree. Records a proposed field value and optional reason without changing the profile. An existing elder of this same tree may apply it by explicitly approving it through review_suggestion. No outbound message or external submission is sent. Never infer the proposed fact. Limited to the connected Banyan account and its authorized family records. suggest_member_edit

Read one adult member's photo with authenticated tree access. Requires separate photo permission. Photo bytes are delivered only to the embedded workspace, not model-visible content.
